The experience

The winter period is clearly to be spent by the fire. In Charentes, the boilers are gradually turned on from October to produce the Charentais elixir, called Cognac. It is natural that a visit to a vintage distiller is essential to immerse yourself in his daily life as an artisan-creator.

Préparez-vous à un voyage des sens à travers le chai de vinification et les cuves de fermentation (avec vue !), les chais de vieillissement et d’assemblage où vous en prendrez plein les mirettes, et la distillerie qui vous partagera son ronronnement et ses notes fruitées. L’heure du goûter sonnera avec la dégustation de quelques flacons sélectionnés par le Maître de Chais, associés aux gourmandises locales.

Pour rappel, le transport n’est pas inclus dans le prix.

  • Gare d’Angoulême puis transfert en taxi jusqu’à Echallat
  • Aéroport de Bordeaux à 2h d’Echallat

The place is located 15 minutes from Angoulême by car (N141) and 30 minutes from Cognac

The program

JOUR J

1:45 p.m.: arrival in Echallat, in front of the Vaudon house (parking on the sidewalk in front of the porch).

2 p.m.: start of the visit with the winemaking cellar, the fermentation vats, the aging and blending cellar, to end in the heart of the distillery. Discovery of the secrets of double distillation, an essential step in the production of Cognac. Tasting of products accompanied by some local sweet treats.

Where: Echallat (15 minutes from Angoulême) and Cognac (30 minutes from Angoulême).

LES LIEUX : ils vous permettront de prendre un peu de hauteur en Fins Bois en venant d’Angoulême.
