The local artisanal brewery that you absolutely must discover around an engaged workshop where you become a total actor.
There are more and more breweries, and each manages to differentiate itself, either through original recipes or inspiring designs. At the entrance to Cognac, we are fortunate to have a young brewery with strong values such as authenticity, respect for taste, responsibility, and originality. I have already adopted it, why not you?
Put yourself in the shoes of a brewer for a moment by letting yourself be guided by the advice of Emilie and Jean. A short questionnaire will be given to you upon your arrival to identify your tastes (between bitter, acid, sugar, fruit, etc.). Each step will be detailed for you so that you don't miss anything in the development of these craft beers. Then, the moment will come for the tasting based on your questionnaire (you might even be surprised to appreciate amber beers when you had noted that you didn't like them!). Remember your favorites carefully because you will have the opportunity to buy mixed bottles or boxes on site, at the store... The most fun part of this activity: you will have the opportunity to step into the shoes of the brewer by making it yourself. your own brew (under the kindness of Emilie). Thus, you will have participated in the most immersive stage of the profession, and we will even let you brainstorm to find an original name for this new vintage! In case it is a success, don't expect a percentage on sales, but a bottle will be sent to you with your name on it, isn't that nice?
As a reminder, transport is not included in the price of the activity.
The place is located 30 minutes from Angoulême by car (N141)
A little carpool otherwise?
9:45 a.m.: arrival in Châteaubernard, at the address given for the brewery (parking in the car park down the street).
10 a.m.: introduction of the young brewers followed by a small introspective phase with the personalized questionnaire. The visit to the premises in complete privacy will continue. Do not hesitate to ask all your questions about this very popular product which still keeps a lot of secrets. Our brewers will reveal to you what led them to embark on this adventure, their beginnings, the development phases, and the distribution strategy for their products which is intended to be quite local, but shush... I won't tell you any more!
11:30 a.m.: tasting of your choice among classics, originals, and other new products. It's time to froth a little! Take the time to appreciate each aroma and pay attention to the suggestions they can make to pair with everyday foods. A beer meal from starter to dessert is possible! Finally, you will be asked to give as many development ideas as possible for new recipes (nothing better than a happy consumer to bring new products to life). The name is also important because it allows you to differentiate each beer according to its most striking characteristics, so don't be shy and unleash the great marketer in you!
1 p.m.: Jean returns from the market with a Thai meal to offer you this famous meal in accordance with their products.
3 p.m.: depending on the weather, and for those who wish, the visit can continue with the Jardin Respectueux a few steps away to see hop shoots in particular.
Where: Châteaubernard (30 minutes from Angoulême).
THE PLACE: at the Châteaubernard brewery, indoors. The Respectful Garden is outdoors with some shelter depending on the weather.
BREWERS: BIG HOP, founded in 2019.
TO EAT: Thai or Japanese food goes very well with all of the brewery's lager beers (tested and approved).
EQUIPMENT:
IMPORTANT: Alcohol abuse is dangerous for your health. To consume with moderation. Fruit juices and water are offered as an alternative to alcoholic products throughout the stay.
Motivate those around you to participate in this stay for privatization. Do not hesitate to also offer this stay to your loved ones. The minimum number to be reached to confirm the stay is 6 people. Wait for the confirmation by email.
